Solar Rituals
We hold “open circle” solar ritual on the closest Saturday at 7 PM in Gore Hall. An 8 PM potluck follows. These are “drop in” friendly and anyone can attend provided they can follow the Code of Conduct. It is free, but a $5 love offering is welcome to help defray cost of ritual supplies. We occasionally have guest ritual leaders from other pagan groups in the area.
The Summer Solstice is typically a morning service at 10:30 AM in the First Unitarian sanctuary followed by coffee hour and games in Gore Hall.
The Winter Solstice is an evening service in the sanctuary followed by the All Night Yule Vigil in the Religious Education Building’s Courtyard.
This is Mystic Grove’s signature event. It is the largest and most complex ritual we do — it’s really one long ritual with three parts. The 7 PM opening ritual in the sanctuary, the 11 PM last hour ritual in the labyrinth, and the 7 AM dawn ritual in the courtyard. You can come for it all or just the bits you like best!
People sometimes come from as far as Tampa and Jacksonville to dance in our spiral dance!
Lunar Ritual
“Moon Circles” at Mystic Grove are a hybrid model. The first hour is a class/covenant group, and the last hour is lunar ritual. Class meets once a month on 4th Fridays and celebrates the moon in the phase it is in that day. This is a tuition class limited to 10 in person students. Distance learners can receive the “Moon Circle Lite” version via Facebook group. Learn more about Moon Circle here.
